de Koningshoeven

Around the Abbey of Our Lady of Beer Brewery De Koningshoeven one can detect the subtle aroma of hops, yeast and malt. The history

At the end of the 19th century, a small group of Trappist monks fled from France to Berkel-Enschot. There, in the heart of Brabant, they found a piece of heathland with a few farms and a sheepfold. They embraced this former home of King William II, de Koningshoeven, as their new home port. They founded their monastery there and decided to brew beer. The first Trappist monastery in the Netherlands became a reality. Here, unique beers are still brewed under the supervision of the monks according to years-old, secret recipes. With attention, passion and traditional craftsmanship.
