What started 300 years ago in a farm on the Kerkdijk in Lieshout (Province of Brabant), grew into our international family business. This success is partly due to the switch from top to bottom-fermenting beer in 1925, our natural mineral water sources and our own malt house. As a result, this brewery has virtually the entire chain under its own management.

The history
Brewery Bavaria is one of the oldest breweries in the Netherlands. In 1719, Brewery 'De Kerkdijk' was mentioned for the first time. The Moorees family brewed craft beer there on a small scale. One of the daughters married a Swinkels. Their descendants took over the brewery in 1764. Since then, the brewery and the Swinkels name have become inextricably linked.
